The hostel was exceptionally clean and the staff was always helpful. The common area was a lot of fun, providing a great social atmosphere. Despite the small dorm cabins, the overall experience was wonderful. The breakfast, although a bit pricey, was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location of the hostel was fantastic, just a short walk away from the famous Nishiki Market and the main shopping area. It was also easy to access from the subway station. the cleanliness of the hostel was top-notch, with the rooms being kept tidy and the toilets and shower rooms being spotless. the common area was inviting and had a great ambiance. the staff provided excellent customer service, always friendly and helpful. the breakfast offered a variety of delicious options, including mashed pumpkin with egg and bolognese balls.
That it was sometimes crowded, making it difficult to meet people and talk to the staff. the staff was still friendly and accommodating.

The location of the hotel was incredibly convenient, with Nishiki market right next door and the Gion quarter just a short walk away. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, even assisting us with restaurant reservations. the bathrooms were impeccably clean and there were free amenities such as shampoo and conditioner available.
There were a few downsides to our stay. The rooms were quite small and lacked storage space for our luggage.

The location of this hotel was unbeatable. Just a stone's throw away from the famous Nishiki market, we indulged in delicious local food and treats every day. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to give us recommendations and help us with any queries. The compact room was cozy and had all the necessary amenities, including refreshing toiletries. Plus, the affordable breakfast spread was a great way to start the day.
The pillows were too hard for our liking, so we had to purchase our own. It would have been nice if there were softer options available.

The facilities at Grids were great for those on a budget. the hostel had clean and high-tech rooms, with security card access and separate floors for females. There were refrigerators on each floor and a lounge room. the female lounge even had body and foot massagers, a perfect way to unwind after a long day. the beds were comfortable and well-designed to minimize noise. the location of the hostel was also a plus, right next to a market and a good ramen spot.
Felt completely relaxed, nothing to complain about.

Grids Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi Hotel&Hostel is in a great location, right next to a market and only a short walk to the Gion district. The twin room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious for a hostel in Japan, with plenty of room for my suitcases. The bathroom was modern and clean, equipped with all the essentials like shampoo. I especially loved the full-function Japanese toilet with a heated seat. The air conditioning was quiet and easy to use. The beds were comfortable with good quality linen and pillows. The English-speaking staff were very helpful and the coffee served was top-notch. Breakfast was provided, making things convenient. It's a great place for families too. However, there were limited areas to hang clothes and keep luggage. There was also one night when the powder room wasn't clean and ran out of paper. But overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
